About

Adrienne Hein is a 21 year old, self-taught contemporary artist born and raised in Northwest Indiana. In 2021, Adrienne made Los Angeles her home and set up her studio following her decision to depart from studies as a psychology student. Dedicating herself fully to her artistic practice since then, she has been engaged in an exploration of abstract design and large-scale acrylic paintings.

Adrienne’s path to becoming a professional artist is underway as she has just started to search for her place in the art world. Her first solo exhibition was hosted in June of 2023, followed by her participation in a number of group exhibitions. Recently, she traveled to France to further explore her artistic practice at a remote creative residency. Through these experiences she has pushed the boundaries of her creativity, experimenting with new techniques and approaches.

In her most recent work, Adrienne’s artistic voice has become even more distinct and consistent. Her development as an artist is moving exponentially and she promises to stand out amidst the sea of emerging talent. She feels very excited for the future she will create for herself, whatever it may look like.

Artist Statement

Adrienne Hein is a Los Angeles based contemporary artist creating abstract paintings that embrace various layering techniques to form deeply detailed visual narratives. Her work is widely characterized by monochromatic tones punctuated by bold red accents, serving as a conduit for dramatic contrast. These contrasts not only heighten the visual impact but also symbolize the tense duality between the elements of motion and stillness. Adrienne's paintings tell stories of memories.

The works in their final forms beckon viewers to reach their own conclusions about what the imagery may represent. It is an exploration of the unseen, a poetic dance between the known and the unknown, inviting contemplation and conversation about the complexities of existence. The beauty of Adrienne’s work hinges on the unpredictability of the human experience, embodying the very purpose of art as a whole— creating an otherworldly realm from reality.
