JUDY ZIMBERT

About

Artist Judy Zimbert is happiest with a paintbrush in her hand. For her, it is a daily meditation as well as a constant exploration/conversation.

Her love of art started at age seven with weekly visits to the Cleveland Museum of Art. It was there that she fell in love with Velasquez, van Gogh, and Degas.

College took her out of the harsh Cleveland winters and into the bright sunshine of Tucson, Arizona where she earned her Master’s Degree in journalism, followed by years as a pioneer in cultural programming for both public and commercial television.

Judy left her home in Tucson, Arizona for Los Angeles, where she focused on her art, including training with David Leffel at the Fetchin Institute, Taos, NM, and the Sundance Academy, Park City, UT.

Her work has been shown at The Agora Gallery in NYC; Alice-Rice Gallery, Laguna, CA; ArtSpace Warehouse, Los Angeles, CA; BOA Gallery, Los Angeles, CA.

Judy works every day in her Beverly Hills home studio.

Artist Statement

I have spent most of the last twenty-plus years in my studio. Life goes in and out of it, but the tone of the work, the mark-making, as such, doesn’t change that much. It juxtaposes differently, assumes more complex positions in space and shows new colors.
