Pleshette Chalet was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. Her dive into professional artistry began with a simple acrylic pour art workshop during a hard time in her life. What started as a cathartic way to process hard emotions became a calling. Pleshette specializes in abstract art, with a focus on acrylic pour, alcohol inks, and a precarious amount of glitter.
Artist Statement
Pleshette Chalet is a Chicago-based, multi-disciplinary artist with a focus on abstract and acrylic pour art. For Pleshette, Art has been a place of deep healing and playfulness. Her work often captures a fearless exploration of color and form. And takes an even deeper dive into the esoteric. Her ethereal and otherworldly pieces transport the onlooker into viewscapes reminiscent of Earth, the copious dimensions beyond Earth, and evocations of the Soul. Some of the most important components of Pleshette's practice are curiosity and fun. She accomplishes deep sensuality and sophistication in her work, while still maintaining her connection to art as an accessible, enjoyable, and explorative practice. These explorations are imparted onto the viewer in a co-creative dynamic. Does her work invoke the sublime of far away galaxies or the intricacies of pure consciousness? That shall depend on you.
