ELIGIBILITY:   Open to U.S. residents, 18 years or older, working in fine art media (”Artist“). Categories include Computer Art, Drawing, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture. No video, film or installations or artwork that requires special installation. Work must be original. Entries are limited to a maximum of six works completed since 2007 and not shown previously at TAG Gallery (TAG artists are not eligible).

SPECIFICATIONS:   Frames, mats and wiring must be professional quality. No saw-tooth hangers. Wiring must be in good condition and substantial enough for the weight of the artwork. Two-dimensional works on paper must be framed and under Plexiglas. Delivered work must match the image juried. No substitions of accepted works will be allowed. All accepted work must remain the gallery for the duration of the exhibit. Prices quoted on the entry form may not be changed after acceptance.

SIZE RESTRICTIONS:   Hanging works are limited to 48” height and 36” width including frame and may not exceed 30 lbs per unit. Sculptures may not exceed 40 lbs and limited to 48” height x 20” wide.

ACCEPTED WORK:   Accepted Artists will receive instructions for shipping and hand delivery. There is a $60 handling charge for shipped work. Shipping costs and insurance are the responsibility of the Artist. A pre-paid return shipping label or airbill is mandatory. Reuseable shipping contains only. No wood crates or styrofoam peanuts.

CATALOG:   Accepted artwork will be featured in an exhibition catalog available for purchase. TAG Gallery reserves the right to reproduce accepted artwork for publicity and documentary purposes, including the exhibition catalog. All copyrights in the artwork are retained by the Artist.

LIABILITY:   Artwork will be handled with reasonable care. TAG Gallery and its representatives will not be responsible for loss, theft or damage of artworks while in the gallery’s possession or in transit. SALES:   All work must be available for sale, There is a 40% commission to TAG Gallery on sales during the exhibition and 30 days subsequent to the close of the exhibition. No work may be removed from the gallery until the close of the exhibition.

AGREEMENT:   The submission of entries to this competition shall be understood to constitute an agreement on the part of the Artist to all rules and conditions as set forth in this prospectus.

ENTRY PROCEDURE (ONLINE ONLY):   All entries must be submitted online. Click here to submit your artwork. Online entries need to be submitted on or before July 1, 2012.

DIGITAL FILES:   Submitted work must be in JPG format, RGB color, 300 dpi resolution (dots per inch). The longest dimension should not exceed 1200 pixels. Submitted work should be correctly oriented (veritical or horizontal). For two dimensional work, one digital JPG per entry. Three dimensional work may have two views per entry. IMAGE LABELING:   JPG files MUST BE saved as follows:

For sculpture, submit two views of each work and label each work:

FEES:   $40 for one to two entries. Additional entries $10 each; maximum six entries. All fees are non-refundable and payable online through PayPal, which accepts credit and debit cards or by check sent before July 1, 2012 to: TAG Gallery, 225 Michigan Avenue, D3, Santa Monica, CA 90404, Attn: California Open. Please include the Artist’s name along with a copy of the entry form. Your work will be accepted when your check has been received.

DISCLAIMER:   Entries not meeting the criteria listed above will be disqualified and the entry fee will not be refunded.

NOTIFICATION:   Results of the jurying will be emailed after July 20, 2012. A list of the accepted Artists will also be posted at on our website at http://taggallery.net/caopen after July 20, 2012.
