Magical Flowers/ Mystical Trees opens March 16, 2022 at TAG Gallery, 5458 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036. TAG is open 1pm-7pm, Wed-Sun

Bruce Sanders is an expressionist and abstract expressionist painter.  His work attempts to represent and memorialize the joys and challenges of his life.  Rather than trying to record the external world that all can see, Bruce’s paintings are the recordings of humble attempts to “look inward.”  His work blurs the lines of representational and abstract art. It delves into a space between the real world and a mystical-magical realm.  Compositions are often the result of a vision, a dream, or an imaginary thought.  Bruce employs kinetic forms, dynamic colors, and heavy texture to express his feelings and emotions.  By doing so, his work compels viewers to empathize, analyze, and interpret their own feelings.

This solo show entitled “MAGICAL FLOWERS / MYSTICAL TREES” comes on the 8th anniversary of his beloved wife’s passing.  Barbara loved working in the garden; and she treasured the blessings of flowers, trees, and plants.  She thought of a garden as a “sacred place” and she found great peace there.  Bruce has dedicated his show to honor Barbara.  May her memory be a blessing.
