This body of work centers around our urban environment with a special emphasis on the space where the earth and the sky seem to meet. Along the horizon line one finds the smooth flow interrupted by trees, constructions, telephone poles and a myriad of man made and natural shapes that extend up into the sky as if to grab and hold on to it. They make an a series of interchanging designs are a interesting source of fascination to me.
About the Artist: Fielden Harper is an architectural painter who lives and paints near her studio at the Santa Monica Airport. She received her BFA from Otis Art Institute and her MFA from Cal State, Los Angeles. She has exhibited extensively and her work is in many private collections, including but not limited to The President’s Fund and Collection of the J. Paul Getty Trust, Dr. Lauren Reager, Mr. and Mrs. Carl McKinzie, United Way and The Milkin Institute
