As far back as I can remember I have always been attracted to the ocean. Growing up in Brooklyn we took the trolley to Coney Island and spent summer days playing in the Atlantic Ocean. Now I get to enjoy the Pacific Ocean in the 93001 zip code and especially at Bath Lane. It is a special place to live and to be able to paint there. Since childhood my left hand has held some tool to make a mark on paper. But my true medium is watercolor ever since I found out I could go out with a small pack find a spot to sit down and get lost in the moment of creation. These watercolors are the perfect way for me to depict my ever changing ocean light, the people around the area and some of the floral arrays. Each new painting no matter the subject is my way of expressing a different world that I can make up to express my view of the elements. I love to challenge myself to new papers, color schemes and mediums so that I can keep the work alive and fresh. I am a founding member of TAg and have been on the board since its inception and president of the organization in 2000. The proceeds of this show go to the Robert David Lazarus Pulmonary Unit at Cedar-Sinai Hospital in memory of my son Robert
